Yup, yesterday was my birthday. Thank you, friends, for all the warm birthday wishes. Really made me miss home, well, not home so much, more all my wonderful friends that I would have been able to make celebrate my birthday with me. Ha! You guys all got off easy this year. ;) I may just throw myself two birthday parties next year just so you’ll have to spend double the time with me to make up for this year. <insert diabolic laugh here> But really, I miss all of you very much. As wonderful an experience living in Paris for a year may be, nothing can compare to living in a place where you are near to those you hold most dear.

So hopefully I’ve buttered you guys up enough to keep reading my blog for a few more entries. :D

Day was pretty normal. Went to the market and decided to do a little of what I call “American” grocery shopping. I actually bought things beyond what I would be cooking for the current evening. I bought things for a few meals this week, laundry and dishwasher detergent, etc. Oh good golly miss molly. Lugging all that stuff home plus the sack of potatoes that I bought was quite a workout.

For my birthday dinner, yes, that I was cooking, I decided to treat us to a little steak. I was feeling carnivorous on this, the anniversary of my day of birth. (And before you start leaving nasty remarks on Brandon’s fbook, my favorite restaurant I wanted to go to for my birthday dinner is closed on Mondays, AND the hubby told me we could go out two nights in a row, but I declined)

And he brought me home flowers for my birthday. Thanks B!

Last night’s birthday dinner players:

The salad that I make for most every meal that isn’t asian. Mixed greens lightly dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Roasted onions and potatoes with garlic. They’re worth the weight! heh, heh. Get it? Wait, weight? No laughs? I hear crickets. Ok, moving on.

Roasted brussels sprouts with onion and garlic.

And boeuf, its what was for dinner.

Then after dinner, we decided to go out for some birthday dessert. After recognizing I was too lazy to trek over to Saint Michel to my favorite crepe street vendor, we decide to try the churro/crepe selling guy near the metro stop by our house. Sadly, he was closed. So after searching, we ended up at this really famous place…

Yes, McDonalds. But it has a fancy-shmancy McCafe.

We decided to share a McFlurry with M&M’s.

Me blowing out my McFlurry “candle” spoon.

Thanks again for all the bday love everyone. This is Piggy, another year older, signing off. Oink! Oink!
